Joseph Giambo

Expert in Video Collaboration

Thank you for taking the time to read this.  Honestly I don’t know who the intended audience of this blog is.  I have so many varied interest, hobbies, and expertise that there is most likely something here that will interest you.

A little about me.  I started my career in IT early.  I worked in the mid-2000s as a general geek at a gaming LAN center and worked my way up from there.  In 2008 I started working for and consulting with the American Red Cross on non-profit IT and disaster response.  In 2009 I added several non profits to my consulting including the local search and rescue as well as the local medical reserve corps. In 2013 I started with Cisco Systems as a senior engineer working on technical support for Webex.  Quickly I became the team lead and eventually the manager of the technical support teams.  In 2017 I left technical support to take over Global Video Operations for Cisco Webex and since have loved every moment.

Personally I spend my spare time learning and teaching.  I volunteer to teach children 2nd-8th grade to code.  I dabble in security research and RF hacking when time permits including working the amateur bands and experimenting with radio within my various licenses.

When not busy with one thing or another I spend time making artisanal mead from locally sourced honey and enjoying a fine imported cigar or smoking pipe tobacco.  Let me know if you are interested I am always happy to discuss any topic over a glass and fine smoke.
